Inspiration… Today I need… – Paulo Alberto Simoes Home Page

For a few weeks, I have been trying to express my almost obsession with the concept of “Inspiration”. I think it all started with the fact that I lost my Father, whom I love immensely, very early on and everything I knew about my Father’s person came from how much he was referenced by other people.

My Father, Mr. Alberto, was introduced to me by 100% of the people who knew him as a good, caring, hardworking person, a good husband, an excellent Father, a good friend, and a charitable person. He had defects, of course, those who do not have them, are resolute, but by far forgotten due to being a good person.

Then my Inspiration began. For all time I thought “I need to be like my Father”.

As time went by, the difficulties were great, and I saw in my Mother a great effort so that nothing reached me so that I could study, dress, and even have to eat the best I could. Once again, a form of inspiration came to me … that very maternal, a Herculean effort so that I could have a good life. Here I graduated from one of the best Universities in the country and worked in one of the largest technology companies in the world.

I went to this college and met teachers who were pure Inspiration, what about Master Julio Salek? Everyone knew him, didactic and attentive, a reference. Teachers like Paulo Aguiar, known as severe, but who incited us to be better, to look for what existed in cutting-edge Universities recognized worldwide. Look for where to get knowledge, not patronizing, or fulfilling a point … but another true Master.

The time has come to take the heavy and work hard to survive. Then one day, I was graced with the possibility of participating in an event from one Sun Microsystems, the Sun Tech Days, it was Java time and I had already fallen in love with this platform. But when I got there and listened to those Evangelists … what Inspiration … we had professionals from all over the World there, sharing knowledge, motivating the audience to know more, use more, and fall in love more. And it worked out huh… I thought “This is what I want to be when I grow up :-)“. And I’ve been trying to do that ever since, chasing this Inspiration to this day.

The name Inspiration, from the Merriam-Webster dictionary, originates from the Latin inspiratus, which would mean “to breathe in”, receiving at the beginning of the 14th century a theological connotation meaning “the divine influence on a person, from a divine entity”. However, its connotation dates from the 19th century as “the act of influencing or suggesting opinions”.

If we allow ourselves to think of the “Divine Influence” possible to be exercised by the normal being, that is, the non-divine, but still acceptable as a “Good Influence” then we can conclude that Inspiration is the act of doing good to others, bringing good influence, motivating him to continue and have a good fortune. And why not be a form of Divine Inspiration?

So, no matter what your role, no matter your social position, no matter your titles or positions or anything … GET INSPIRED TO INSPIRE THE NEXT TO BE BETTER.

I pray to God that I may, in addressing the Eternal East, have left my Father’s main legacy. Inspire my Daughter. I love you, my father. I love you too much, my Daughter.
